The main goal of the community-based care is to promote the child welfare, and the objectives are to support the underprivileged parents or relatives to raise their own children, and be responsive to their basic needs. We believe that nobody can look after the children better than their real parents or family members. Children can also help their families with chores and field work after coming home from school. Several studies have also shown that the placement of children in long term institutional care can have a negative impact in terms of development.
You can help us to achieve our goal in several ways:
School sponsorship – provision of school uniform, bag and stationery etc. The school sponsorship will reduce the direct and indirect costs related to education.
Food sponsorship for the family e.g. monthly quantity of rice. Rice and cooking ingredient sponsorship will reduce the costs to feed the children.
Provision of a nourishing breakfast snack for the many children who arrive at school unfed (this is being. investigated).
A tutoring allowance paid to a qualified person such tutoring for a child in a remote area beyond the reach of volunteers. E.g. Pay a teacher to provide extra tuition. Frequently children of poor families have missed some schooling and are behind their age group. A small amount of tutoring allowance will solve the isolated community-based teacher shortages.
